Do you have family in town for the holiday and want to show off one of our historic neighborhoods? Join Preserve the 'Burg on Saturday November 26th and walk off those extra servings of turkey and gravy on a walking tour through the Historic Kenwood neighborhood. The tour will be led by Alec Smith, local Architect, PTB board member and longtime Kenwood resident.
The approximately two-hour tour starts at 10 am at the Craftsman House, 2955 Central Avenue, an American crafts gallery and cafe that was the original model home for Kenwood. Upon leaving the gallery, tour goers will be led on a pleasant stroll through the neighborhood that has one of the largest concentrations of bungalow homes in the country. The tour will focus on the architecture of the neighborhood and will highlight current activities & its efforts to protect its resources. As a special treat, one of the restored bungalows will be open for the tour. The tour will end in the Grand Central District.
Tickets are free for PTB & HKNA members or $20 for any non-members. Reserve your spot online. Advance registration is required.
PTB and Historic Kenwood hosts a tour every 4th Saturday of the month from October to April.
