Holiday Porch Party at the Historic Pace House

Preserve the ‘Burg Board President Robin Reed and her husband Joe welcome you to a holiday porch party at their home in Old Northeast.

Located at 705 16th Avenue Northeast, the Mediterranean Revival “Pace House” was constructed in 1932 for Mr. and Mrs. Virgil H. Pace. This award-winning, locally landmarked historic home contains almost all of its original architectural features and details, including wood windows, inlaid mahogany doors, wood and tile floors, and wrought iron gates and railings. Hand-stenciled beams, light fixtures, and stained woodwork continue to grace the interior.

The original owner, Helen Pace, was one of Florida's earliest business women, whose career spanned a half century. In addition to operating St. Petersburg's Sherman's and the Don Leno Shop - offering ladies and men’s apparel, respectively - she established successful businesses throughout the Tampa Bay area and was described by her granddaughter, Bettie Pace Stewart, as a woman ahead of her time, with a keen business sense.

Joe and Robin purchased the Pace House in 1999, becoming the home's 3rd owners. They have been meticulous stewards of the property, adding it to the St. Petersburg Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Join the Reeds and Preserve the ‘Burg as we celebrate the holidays and prepare for the new year.

Enjoy light hors d'oeuvres and a donation bar along with tours of this special historic residence.
