Lunch and Learn at the Historic Williams and Snell Houses
Thursday, May 22 at Noon
Join Preserve the ‘Burg and USF's Florida Studies Program for a special Preservation Month tour of the recently restored Williams House and the neighboring Snell home.
This noon-time "brown bag lunch" tour will include a look at the history, restoration and current use of these iconic historic landmarks, along with guided tours of both houses.
The John C. Williams House and C. Perry Snell House have both stood as stoic reminders of St. Pete’s past ever since they were relocated to the USF St. Petersburg campus in the 1990s. The Williams House is one of the oldest surviving homes in St. Petersburg.
Constructed in 1891 for city co-founder General John C. Williams, the 15-room building served as a hotel for nearly ninety years at its original location on 5th Ave. S. before being relocated to the USF St. Petersburg campus in 1997.
The program is presented by Preserve the 'Burg and the Florida Studies Program. Attendance is limited to 25 guests.
Brown bag lunch and beverages provided.
$20 for PTB members; $26 for non-members.
